Mobil 1 boasts the "Mobil 1 Extended Performance" oil based on test in few Taxis in Las Vegas, yet at the same time on their web and on back of the bottle actually recommend NOT to exceed OEM oil change intervals on vehicles during their warranty period - period ! ExxonMobil is not willing to back up with any warranty their "test" claims at all. Mobil 1 comes in 15 different formulations of various SAE viscosity rating and only 3 of them are labeled as Extended Performance, of which only the SAE 5W-30 version is actually "acceptable" as currently no OEM recommends the use of either SAE 10W-30 or SAE 15W-50 oils in their engines. So while the front Label of Mobil 1 makes "Extended Performance" claim, the back label (read it !) advises you against it in any vehicle with oil life system or if it is under OEM warranty!
