How does SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® bond to Engine Components?

Answers to the most frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Q:

How does SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® bond to Engine Components?

A:

SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® is comprised of five functional liquids and three colloidal solids.

Each of the specific components in SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® has a specific task that it performs.

The ester component physically bonds to engine parts. To some extend also the PTFE and Moly colloidal components adhere to bearing surfaces as well.

On the surface of metal components exist thin oxide coating which can develop a positive charge due to electron localization. In SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® unique polar ester is designed to take advantage of this effect.

The attraction between the positive charge of the engine surfaces and the polar ester, which has a negative charge, creates a layer of ester component that is attracted and held to the surface of the metal. In effect, a layer of lubricant becomes affixed to the engine surfaces creating a long-lasting protective film, superior in performance to conventional oils.

The Moly (MoS2) colloids also exhibit some negative surface charge and similarly get attracted to the surface, but because they are solids, they get embossed into the irregularities in the surface.

The PTFE (Teflon® or Fluon®) component is under extreme local load plasticized and is also pushed into fine "valleys" in machined surfaces.

The ester components as well as the colloids not only reduce friction and wear by adhering to the surface, but also increase lubricity by their ability to easily shear away from it under extreme load, thus eliminating metal-to-metal weld and surface damage.

In the rare situation when metal surface is damaged under extreme operation condition and all of the positively charged surface oxide is removed, the fresh metal surface has a negative charge.

Before oxidation of this surface can re-occur this would result in increased local wear.

To eliminate wear under these rare conditions the high graphite colloid loading in the SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® instantaneously protects such surface. This is because the graphite colloids have positive surface charge and are easily attracted to the metallic surface, which if it is oxide free, has a negative charge.

Therefore, SynLube™ Lube‑4‑Life® protects all bearing surfaces under normal as well as severe and extreme operation, in all combinations of load, temperature and speed.

SynLube™Lube‑4‑Life® is the only lubricant that offers such extensive protection along with universality of use.
